Job Summary
Receive and process member service calls related to mid and/or large group employee benefit clients. Handles questions from client’s new hires on plan offerings and eligibility as well as providing open enrollment guidance to members. There is a high volume of contact with client representatives, insurance carriers, providers and employees.
Principal Responsibilities
▪ Respond to calls. Resolve service issues that may involve claims, enrollments, terminations and billing problems between clients, members, and insurance carriers.
▪ Research denied or unpaid claims, assist clients in resolving issues, gather documentation for follow-up on claims and determine whether items were correctly processed.
▪ May be responsible to contact representatives at hospitals, provider offices, laboratories and pharmacies to research service issues.
▪ Respond to questions relating to plan coverage such as covered services, cost containment programs, provider networks, prescription formularies and member cost share.
▪ Log and track all calls and input all other client data in the BenefitPoint system.
▪ Ability to document and communicate complex issues in a comprehensive format for further resolution by Associate Consultant or Consultant.
▪ Maintain files with appropriate follow-up documentation.
▪ Data entry enrollment in carrier web portal or Benefits Administration system
Other Functions
▪ Attends various meetings weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly.
▪ Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
▪ A minimum of two years' customer service experience in any industry required.
▪ Insurance Background And Benefits Experience Is Strongly Preferred.
▪ Understanding of client plan offerings and health plans in general
▪ Strong interpersonal, verbal and communication skills.
▪ Ability to activity listen to determine root issue and defuse emotional situations
▪ Excellent customer service, ability to multi-task and organizational skills.
▪ PC proficiency and experience in Word and Excel required.
▪ Bilingual a plus
Specialized Knowledge or Licenses
Valid state Life and Health Insurance License preferred.

Office environment with moderate noise level.
