Operations Manager
Reports to: President
Summary:
The Operations Manager will oversee and manage all aspects of the organization’s operations, ensuring efficient and cost-effective systems that meet the current and future needs of the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all operations aspects and internal processes, including assembly operations, machine shop, and customer service.
- Ensure compliance with export control and adherence to ITAR and EAR standards, as well as OSHA and EHS regulations.
- Review and optimize current manufacturing processes, focusing on quality, technology, efficiency, and future demands.
- Lead the product realization process for prototyping and production introduction
- Implement production planning, forecasting, scheduling, and budget planning processes, including cost and capital expenditures (ROI justification). Analyze costs and variances, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Collaborate with other internal departments finance, sales, and supply chain management to support business and production objectives.
- Develop and execute plans in coordination with senior management, considering program expansion, volume increases, and future business needs.
- Facilitate technology transfer between facilities. for production processes.
- Build and maintain a well-run organization, fostering a friendly and fast-paced work environment. Promote teamwork, problem solving and success through structured communication and implementation of new technology.
- Engage in high-level negotiations with client companies and manufacturing partners.
- Report directly to the President of Electro-Miniatures Corp.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Industrial (Mechanical) Engineering or a related field.
- Several years of management experience as a Manufacturing or Production Manager in a customized engineering and manufacturing environment, preferably with experience in manufacturing electro-mechanical components.
- Experience in relocating plants or consolidating multiple locations without jeopardizing customer relationships or negatively impacting delivery times.
- Experience in process improvement and efficiency enhancement.
- Knowledge of cost management/control, planning, and budgeting.
- Strong understanding of quality improvement processes, certification (ISO9000), and auditing of manufacturing processes, and productivity improvement initiatives.
- Skilled in quality assurance tools, with practical experience in FMEA, Failure Analysis Methods (failure tree analysis, 8D reports, and other methodologies).
- Additional experience in electrical engineering and customer-oriented design of components and value-added subassemblies for high mix, low-volume production.
- Practical experience in project management, including facilities projects and the implementation of new manufacturing flow concepts or systems.
- Experience in unionized plant operations.

Salary : $75,000 - $100,000
