About the Job
We are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing technology projects from inception to completion, with a focus on SAP tools and business intelligence solutions. This role requires a detail-oriented professional who can effectively manage project schedules, resources, and stakeholders while ensuring deliverables meet quality standards and business requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage overall projects to ensure adherence to schedule, milestones, and deliverables
- Establish comprehensive project plans, obtain necessary resources, and coordinate activities of project personnel
- Oversee requirement gathering processes and documentation
- Develop implementation plans including project objectives, technologies, specifications, and risk assessments
- Administer various SAP tools including Business Objects (BO), Business Objects Data Services (BODS), and SAP HANA from installation to configuration and performance tuning
- Provide training to users on BO reports and other implemented solutions
- Monitor scheduled reports and ensure all reports meet Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
- Liaise with clients and support development of bid proposals
- Negotiate with project stakeholders and manage expectations
- Create and maintain project documentation including status reports, issue logs, and lessons learned
- Identify and mitigate project risks and develop response strategies
- Lead project team meetings and provide regular updates to management and stakeholders
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Experience must include requirement gathering, administering various SAP tools like BO, BODS, and HANA from installation to configuration and performance tuning
- Proven experience in IT project management methodologies and best practices
- Knowledge of business intelligence solutions and reporting systems
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience with project management tools and software
- Problem-solving and analytical thinking skills
- Ability to work hybrid in the DMV (DC, Maryland, Virginia) area
Preferred Qualifications
- PMP or other project management certification
- Experience with government contracting and related compliance requirements
- Knowledge of additional SAP modules and integrations
- Experience with Agile or other modern project management methodologies
- Background in managing data warehouse or business intelligence projects
- Understanding of IT governance frameworks (ITIL, COBIT)
- Experience in federal or state government IT environments
