Full-time salaried position responsible for selected accounting and reporting processes of the company, which include but are not limited to documentation and review of internal control environment processes, management of financial auditing processes, oversight of tax matters processes, maintaining transfer pricing documentation, and supporting selected financial or operational reporting. Candidate works closely with various members of the Corporate Finance team and reports to the Head of Corporate Finance.
- Conduct and maintain assessments of the internal control environment, including process reviews amongst Corporate Finance teams and provide recommendations to bridge gaps between current practices and optimal standards.
- Assume responsibility for audit engagements demonstrating strong leadership skills while fostering a collaborative team environment. Support semi-annual goodwill valuation assessment processes.
- Provide tax matters oversight for U.S. federal state, and local taxes as well as selected offshore taxes. Work closely with external firms that provide tax provision preparations or tax return preparations.
- Maintain intercompany service level agreement activities. Review and periodically update transfer pricing documentation.
- Support financial reporting and financial statement preparation on a consolidated or stand-alone basis.
- Support other Corporate Finance activities as required such as strategic projects or capital management activities.
- Additional responsibilities to support other financial and business functions may be assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
- MBA a plus. CPA certification preferred.
- Working experience with a minimum of 5 years in auditing or similar analytical roles.
- Possess strong computer skills with a proficiency in Microsoft Office products. Experience with Workday Financials general ledger application preferred.
- Auditing background and knowledge of IFRS and/or US GAAP.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills with the ability to work on multiple tasks concurrently and meet tight deadlines.
- Must be analytical, detail-oriented, and a motivated and creative problem solver.
- Working knowledge of core corporate finance and accounting concepts.
- Able to work in a team-oriented environment and liaise with other divisions of Conning and Generali in Hartford as well as locations globally.
- Flexible work arrangement comprised of three days in the office and two days working remotely.
