Position Summary

Under direct supervision in an agile environment, assist with development and testing of groundbreaking financial simulation software developed by Conning for internal use and external sale. We are looking for someone who is comfortable following best practices and established procedures, but curious and courageous enough to ask questions and challenge the status quo. The best candidates will have a strong investment or actuarial background with some programming expertise.

Responsibilities:

You will be testing some very complicated software operating in a complex environment. You will develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts to validate software functionality, performance, and reliability, and use test automation tools to ensure that delivered software is of high quality and the development process remains highly agile and efficient. 

Requirements:

We are looking for a candidate with a bachelor’s or master’s degree in actuarial science, math, finance, computer science, or other related field and 3-5 years of professional experience. You must thrive in a hybrid, collaborative work environment and be ready to work closely with team members and stakeholders from around the world.

This requires:

Spoken and written language proficiency in English

​Working knowledge of at least one of the following:

• modeling financial instruments

• stochastic simulation and optimization

• actuarial methods

• financial accounting

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Experience with or knowledge of any of the following would be helpful:

• Proficiency in at least one programming language (such as Julia, Python, C#, JavaScript) with experience in software development.

• Amazon Web Services or Alibaba Cloud.

• Version control systems and DevOps deployment pipelines.

• Software testing methodologies, tools, and best practices.

• Test automation frameworks and tools such as Cypress, Selenium, or similar.

• Software quality assurance, including test planning, test execution, and defect tracking.

The Risk Solutions team develops and sells innovative financial modeling software and performs consulting projects for clients using that software. Our development team is composed of a very diverse group of highly trained, highly motivated professionals. Our client’s needs are focused on investment strategy and enterprise risk management.
