What are the responsibilities and job description for the Springfield- Inventory Specialist position at Connor Co.?
Connor Co., a company rich in history, currently has an Inventory Specialist position available in our Springfield, IL, distribution center. We seek a career-minded person looking for a long-term position with a great company.
Candidates must:
- Pass a pre-employment background check and drug testing.
- Be available to work from 7:00 am until 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
Principal Accountabilities:
Perform daily cycle counts and ensure that inventory counts are completed on time.
Schedule categories for cycle count inventory and maintain accurate records.
Investigate, reconcile, and analyze cycle count quantity discrepancies between stock and records.
Responsible for training new warehouse employees in RF (radio frequency) for picking, putting away, replenishment, and cycle counting
Instruct warehouse employees on proper procedures for locating and utilizing product inventory
Oversee and evaluate stock rotation procedures
Create an efficient warehouse space utilization plan
Maintain adequate storage for warehouse and on-site inventory
Generate and maintain accurate inventory locations and appropriate labels
Records material receipts, locations, and movements by part number and quantity for inventory and location records.
Investigate and analyze disputed transfers.
Investigate, analyze, and maintain accurate documentation of returned goods
Responsible for replenishment of warehouse bins and counterstock
May be asked to assist with transfers and/or receiving when needed
Maintenance of warehouse equipment (i.e., RF scanners, forklifts, pallet jacks, dollies, etc.)
May be asked to travel to other branches to assist with RFID implementation at different company locations
Perform other duties as requested.
Minimum Education/Experience Required:
High School Diploma or its equivalent
Valid driver's license and clean driving record
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
Critical thinker-using logic and reasoning to identify alternative solutions
Mathematical reasoning- the ability to choose the correct method or formulas to solve the problem
Ability to learn Eclipse software
Must be very detail-oriented and focused for accuracy
Ability to perform assignments with minimal supervision and under tight deadlines
Must have strong interpersonal communication skills
Must maintain a patient and professional attitude while managing a busy workload
Strong organizational skills required
Must be able to determine and prioritize workload
Working Conditions:
Normal warehouse environment
Exposure to varying weather conditions and temperatures in warehouse and on loading dock.
Physical strength to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds occasionally.
