Job Summary
Bakken OverviewThe Bakken trend is a sequence of liquids-rich sand and shale layers in the Williston Basin, which stretches across western North Dakota and into Canada. The company’s position in the Bakken development area is comprised of approximately 562,000 net unconventional acres, which include 382,000 net mineral acres and 180,000 net leasehold acres. The company focuses on unconventional tight-oil play development and production in the most prolific portion of the basin.
During 2023, net production averaged 106 MBOED. There were 37 operated wells brought online during 2023, bringing the total to more than 850 operated wells online at year-end.

Position Overview
Description
The Bakken Operations Center (BOC) Operator is the front line of remote operations support responsible for field surveillance utilizing our system wide (wells to sales) remote monitoring systems and connected operations tools. This role is also responsible for remote alarm monitoring, coordination of water disposal shipments and providing centralized support to Field Operators.
The Bakken Operations Center operates 24/7. You will work a 7/7 work schedule including day and night shifts.
Your responsibilities may include:
Support and comply with the policies, goals, efforts, and programs of ConocoPhillips (COP) Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Management System. Ensure HSE issues are given primary consideration in all activities undertaken within area of responsibility. Unsafe acts and/or conditions, no matter in what area of responsibility, are to be reported so corrective actions can be taken
Actively engage in ensuring a respectful workplace with focus on inclusion, equity, and encouraging diversity

Remote/centralized surveillance and control of well site facilities
Alarm management
Lone worker system monitoring and emergency notifications
Support the implementation and maintenance of Alarm Management, Operations by Exception (ObX), and Connected Production strategies for the BOC and field operations
With support from the BOC production lead, proactively identify well trends and conditions outside of normal run parameters. Inform Field Operators and work with them to troubleshoot potential issues prior to alarm notifications and/or facility shutdowns
Responsible for water disposal truck hauling and coordination
Assistance with oil truck hauling dispatch and coordination
Monitor flare and production volumes; work with the BOC team to identify and implement optimization opportunities
Support Defect Elimination by elevating nuisance alarms and production downtime events to the BOC Production Lead to minimize repeat failures
Monitor production from a centralized control room and optimize accordingly to achieve production targets
Liaise often and effectively with the entire BOC and Production teams
Communicate any work priority changes necessary to the Field Operators
Support Field Operators by updating loss coding in Connected Production
Assist in handovers with Projects, Production Services, Well Intervention, Operations support, and other teams as required
Basic/Required:
Legally authorized to work in the United States
3 or more years of direct experience in upstream field operations
Beginner level of proficiency with production automation software programs such as Cygnet, XSPOC, etc.
Willing and able (with or without reasonable accommodation) to work a 7/7 schedule including day and night shift
Willing and able (with or without reasonable accommodation) to work unscheduled overtime as needed
Preferred:
5 or more years industry experience, with a demonstrated background in Gas Processing, Oil Treating, Compression, and Well Operations
1 or more years of experience in a field, facility, or well’s development
Intermediate knowledge of field operations including: compression, plunger lift, ESP, rod pump, chemical treating, etc. operations on high pressure and low pressure gas and oil wells
Beginner level of knowledge of well control and artificial lift theories and techniques

Proven written and oral communication skills
