We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accountant/Payroll Specialist to join our team. This individual will be responsible for managing the accounting and payroll functions of the company. The ideal candidate will have experience in financial accounting, payroll processing, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
Key Responsibilities:

Payroll Administration:
- Process and ensure the accuracy of employee payroll on a bi-weekly basis, including salary, bonuses, overtime, and deductions.
- Maintain payroll records and ensure timely and accurate filing of tax documents such as W-2s, 1099s, and payroll tax returns.
- Coordinate with HR to ensure proper employee records, such as new hires, terminations, raises, and benefit deductions, are updated.
- Resolve payroll discrepancies and answer employee inquiries regarding paychecks, benefits, and tax issues.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations.

Accounting Functions:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
- Maintain general ledger entries and reconcile accounts to ensure accurate reporting.
- Assist in preparing and reviewing budgets, forecasts, and other financial documents.
- Process accounts payable and receivable, including vendor payments and client invoicing.
- Perform regular audits to ensure the accuracy and compliance of financial transactions and records.

Tax Compliance and Reporting:
- Prepare and submit payroll tax filings, including federal, state, and local returns.
- Assist with year-end tax reporting and reconciliation.
- Monitor changes in tax laws to ensure the company remains in compliance with all payroll-related regulations.

Financial Analysis and Advice:
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to management based on payroll and accounting data.
- Assist in financial forecasting and cost analysis.

Other Duties:
- Assist in audits, year-end closing, and tax preparation as needed.
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality in handling payroll and financial information.
- Stay updated with relevant accounting and payroll software, systems, and industry best practices.
- Assist with insurance enrollment
- Review ACA statements for compliance
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
- Proven experience as an Accountant, Payroll Specialist, or similar role.
- Strong understanding of payroll regulations and tax laws.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuit, or similar) and payroll systems (e.g., ADP).
- Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or similar payroll certification.
- Experience with financial reporting and tax filing.
- Familiarity with HR software and payroll integrations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite of products, especially Excel
