We are seeking an experience Dietary Manager for our skilled nursing facility.
Our nursing home dietary manager, preferably a Certified Dietary Manager (CDM), is responsible for overseeing all aspects of food service operations within the nursing facility, including menu planning, food preparation, staff supervision, ensuring food safety and sanitation standards are met, and coordinating dietary needs of residents based on their individual medical requirements, all while adhering to regulatory guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Menu Planning and Nutritional Management.
- Develop and implement nutritionally balanced menus that cater to residents' dietary restrictions, allergies, and medical conditions. Will use pre-established menus from our food service provider in conjunction with our dietitian.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals including nurses and dietitians to create customized meal plans for residents.
- Monitor food intake and make adjustments to menus as needed.
- Food Service Operations.
- Supervise dietary staff including cooks, servers, and dietary aides, ensuring proper food handling and preparation techniques.
- Manage food inventory, ordering supplies, and maintaining budget for food costs.
- Ensure the kitchen and dining areas are clean and sanitized according to health regulations.
- Resident Care and Communication including attending care plan meetings.
- Conduct resident dietary assessments to identify nutritional needs and preferences.
- Communicate with residents, families, and healthcare team regarding dietary concerns and changes.
- Monitor resident food intake and report any issues to nursing staff.
- Compliance and Documentation.
- Maintain accurate records of food production, meal service, and resident dietary needs.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations regarding food safety and sanitation.
- Participate in quality assurance activities to ensure compliance with dietary standards.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Certification: Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) credential is preferred.
- Education: Associate's degree in dietetics, nutrition, or related field preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience in healthcare/LTC food service management.
- Knowledge: Understanding of nutrition principles, food safety regulations, and dietary modifications for various medical conditions.
- Leadership Skills: Ability to manage staff, delegate tasks, and maintain a positive working environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $24.00 per hour
