Title: Counter Staff Shift Leader
Location: Parkville, MD
Compensation Range: $15.00-17.00
Job Summary: As a Counter Staff Shift Leader at our seafood market, you will be responsible for managing the daily operations of the counter, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction, and supervising a team of counter staff. You will play a key role in maintaining quality standards, implementing procedures, and promoting a positive working environment.
Responsibilities:
Customer Service Excellence:
- Greet customers and assist them with their seafood selections.
- Ensure a friendly and welcoming atmosphere for all customers.
- Handle customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints promptly and professionally.
- Maintain knowledge of seafood products, including sourcing, preparation, and cooking recommendations.
- Team Supervision and Training:
- Supervise, train, and mentor counter staff members.
- Delegate tasks and responsibilities to ensure smooth operation during shifts.
- Monitor staff performance and provide constructive feedback..
- Operational Management:
- Oversee the daily opening and/or closing procedures of the counter.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and sanitation standards.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment as needed.
- Manage cash handling procedures and reconcile transactions at the end of shifts.
- Quality Control:
- Monitor product displays to ensure attractive presentation and organization.
Collaborate with management to develop promotional strategies and marketing initiatives.
Requirements:
Proven experience in a similar role within the restaurant industry or retail environment.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and supervise a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Working Conditions:
This position involves standing for extended periods and working in a fast-paced environment.
Handling of seafood products and operation in a refrigerated environment may be required.
