What are the responsibilities and job description for the Campus Instructional Coach-Intermediate Science position at Conroe Independent School District?
Serve as an instructional facilitator in development and improvement of instructional programs and staff development initiatives in the area of Science and grade levels assigned.
- Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of the CISD Instructional Model and best practices in science for all students.
- Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of Science in the grade level range assigned.
- Distribute current information on major trends and best practices in Science for CISD students.
- Demonstrate commitment to the district instructional coaching position.
- Model consistent instructional leadership to the highest level.
- Demonstrate steps taken for professional growth.
- Demonstrate understanding of the District’s demographics and special programs (Bilingual/ESL, Special Education, etc.), and provide authentic instructional strategies in such programs.
- Provide leadership in the generation of curriculum, instruction, and assessment to prepare students for success on state assessments.
- Develop original training, protocols, and activities.
- Modify current staff development to specific audiences.
- Take initiative with curriculum, instruction, and staff development activities.
- Use masterful presentation skills when training, and demonstrate ease of performance.
- Evaluate the quality of available instructional materials.
- Develop curriculum to a high level of rigor utilizing research.
- Develop original ideas for curriculum and instruction.
- Problem solve in difficult situations.
- Analyze District and campus data, as well as make provisions for aligned instructional strategies/interventions.
- Develop cross curriculum and corresponding instruction.
- Create quality common formative assessments.
- Model instructional best teaching practices in Science.
- Construct online staff development training.
- Use current technology in an instructional setting.
- Deliver accelerated instruction to at-risk and struggling students in small group to raise their achievement level.
- Regular attendance.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Experience in staff development presentations required
Three years of successful classroom experience teaching Science
Experience in development of Science curriculum
Education/Certification:
- Bachelor’s degree in education
- Valid Texas teaching certificate in the area of Science within the grade levels assigned
- Valid ESL endorsement, if applicable
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Strong working knowledge of instructional strategies/interventions for at-risk students
- Ability to interpret policy, procedures, and data
- Strong organization, planning, communication, interpersonal skills, and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively
- Working knowledge of curriculum, instruction, and staff development
- Strong knowledge of science best practices connected to CISD INVESTIGATES
- Strong knowledge of Science Success
- Strong training and knowledge of the Science 5E’s Lesson Components
- Training and thorough understanding of the Science Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS)
- Current training and thorough knowledge of creating quality common formative assessments
Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environment Factors:
Maintain emotional control under stress. Occasional district travel; occasional prolonged and irregular hours.
