JOB DESCRIPTION :
Perform maintenance for daily operation of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) and refrigeration equipment. Assist HVAC Technician with after-hours installation, maintenance and repairs.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Diagnose system and HVAC equipment problems.
- Perform minor repairs and modifications as directed on HVAC and refrigeration equipment.
- Clean, lubricate and conduct preventative maintenance tasks of HVAC and refrigeration equipment.
- Assist with new construction and installation of HVAC systems following all applicable codes, manuals, schematics, specifications and blueprints.
- Assist with compressor change outs and refrigerant circuit cleanup.
- Assist in the installation of HVAC control systems in existing and new facilities following instructions, diagrams, manufactures instructions, schematics and blueprints.
- Use power and hand tools to make necessary repairs, adjustments and service procedures to HVAC systems and refrigeration equipment.
- Maintain inventory of District owned tools, equipment and materials.
- Identify and correct unsafe conditions in work areas and report any conditions that are uncorrectable to supervisor immediately.
- Keep shop, equipment and tools in safe operating condition.
- Operate tools and equipment according to established safety procedures.
- Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties, including lifting, climbing, etc.
- Respond to emergency calls as needed and be on-call / stand-by as assigned by supervisor.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Maintain regular attendance.
- Follow all District rules, regulations and policies.
- Other duties as assigned.
