We are a patient-focused, single-doctor dental practice with three operatories, dedicated to providing exceptional dental care in a friendly and professional environment. We are seeking an experienced Insurance and Treatment Plan Coordinator for a 3-week temporary position, with the potential for permanent placement based on performance.
Position Overview:
We are looking for a highly skilled Insurance and Treatment Plan Coordinator with a strong background in Open Dental software, insurance verification, and treatment planning. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of dental insurance processes, excellent communication skills, and the ability to provide outstanding patient care while managing financial discussions with confidence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Insurance Coordination:
- Verify insurance eligibility and benefits (PPO, HMO).
- Accurately input insurance details into Open Dental.
- Submit and track pre-authorizations, appeals, and claim follow-ups.
- Maintain knowledge of current insurance policies and fee schedules.
- Treatment Planning:
- Collaborate with the dentist to create and present treatment plans to patients.
- Explain treatment options, costs, and financial responsibilities clearly.
- Assist patients in understanding their insurance coverage and financing options.
- Ensure proper coding and documentation for all planned procedures.
- Financial Coordination:
- Collect co-pays and outstanding balances at check-out.
- Set up financial arrangements for patients undergoing extensive treatment.
- Follow up on pending treatment plans and encourage patient acceptance.
- Assist with accounts receivable management as needed.
- Administrative Duties:
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments effectively.
- Maintain accurate and organized patient records.
- Provide support to the front desk team as needed.
- Ensure HIPAA compliance in all patient interactions.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in dental insurance verification and treatment coordination.
- Proficiency in Open Dental software is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of dental insurance plans, including PPOs and HMOs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask in a busy environment and prioritize patient care.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and organization.
- Knowledge of CDT codes and dental terminology.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus but not required.

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
