Jefferson, New Jersey 07438Position SummaryThe Physician operates in a team with other clinic healthcare providers and support staff. The Physician provides patient medical care to all age groups in an office-based, multi-specialty group practice. In addition, the Physician provides diagnostic and therapeutic medical services, while making reasonable and sound medical assessments and treatment plans.
Duties and Responsibilities
The duties include, but are not limited to:
Disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery
Treatment of acute illnesses
Treatment of acute injuries
Prescribes and administers medications, performs routine vaccinations, and provides advice regarding personal health and hygiene
Requests necessary tests and follow-up visits and refers patients to specialists, as necessary
Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field
Relies on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals
Performs a variety of tasks
A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected
Provides direction to both clinical and reception support staff
Proper and complete medical documentation (without copy/paste) for all patient care in order to assure accuracy (above 80% with goal of 95%) of E/M coding – and closing/sign off after review of all patient charts in accordance with company policies. Failure to meet this essential job function can affect the eligibility for productivity/PCN (percent net collection) bonuses
Proper and complete medical documentation (without copy/paste) for all patient care in order to assure accuracy of HCC coding. Failure to meet this essential job function can affect the eligibility for VBC bonuses
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
Qualifications or Education, Training and Experience
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO)
Licensed in the state of New Jersey
Board certified or Board eligible
Completion of an accredited residency program in area of practice (i.e., family practice, internal medicine, or pediatrics)
DEA controlled substances registration
Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (CPR/AED) certification
Successful completion of CHC’s credentialing and privileging review upon hire and recredentialing as appropriate
Strong computer skills with prior electronic medical record (EMR) use preferred
Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients, hospital personnel and community members
Skills to perform patient treatment procedures for most acute illnesses or injuries
Remains calm and effective in high pressure and emergency situations
