Part-Time Program Instructor
The Conservancy for Cuyahoga Valley National Park is looking for an enthusiastic, creative, and detail oriented professional candidate with a desire to engage youth and adults in experiential learning opportunities in Cuyahoga Valley National Park. The part-time Program Instructor will join the Conservancy’s Programs and Education Team and work in collaboration with the National Park Services to provide exceptional learning opportunities for audiences of all ages.
Position Description, Essential Duties (other duties as assigned):
- Be an engaged and collaborative member of a team of program instructors.
- Approach all duties through a lens of inclusivity and equity, considering the voices and perspectives that may be missing and audiences that may be underrepresented or underserved;
- Maintain the highest professional standards when teaching and interacting with students, teachers, parents, and guests at CVEEC;
- Lead morning, afternoon and evening instructional units using the field, labs, and activity areas;
- Special teaching focus on day programs, specifically for 2nd and 4th grade audiences;
- Teach pre- & post-site activities for participating schools;
- Teach virtual school programs for youth audiences;
- Contribute to other aspects of programming, including but not limited to outreach, booking, follow-ups, and maintaining records;
- Attend weekly staff meetings as scheduled;
- Serve as ambassador for the CVEEC and the Conservancy, in general;
- Employees are required to make every reasonable effort to keep students, visitors, and guests safe while on the Cuyahoga Valley Environmental Education Center Campus. In furtherance of this expectation, all CVEEC employees are required to participate in annual and on-going training as deemed necessary by the Conservancy. The training may include, but is not limited to; Active Shooter, First Aid/CPR/AED, Emergency Response, Bridges Out of Poverty, Disability Awareness, and other safety-related training that may or may not include extremely sensitive or otherwise triggering content.
- Employees are considered mandated reporters in the state of Ohio and as such are required by law to report if they suspect or know that child abuse or neglect is occurring.
- Other duties as assigned.
Status/Pay/Benefits: Part-time, non-exempt, $17.00 hourly. No benefits are associated with this position.
