Seasonal Culinary Associate
Are you passionate about environmental justice and access to a healthy environment for all? The Conservancy for Cuyahoga Valley National Park is looking for a self-motivated, organized, and teamwork-oriented individual to assist across departments in the Environmental Education Center.
Under the direction of the Culinary Program Manager, the Culinary Associate is responsible for the preparation of materials, cleaning, and related tasks of the Conservancy operations.
Position Description, Essential Duties (other duties as assigned):
Essential duties include:
- Prepare food and beverages, in quantitative portions, for up to 150 people in a timely manner.
- Carry out dishwashing procedure using automatic dish machine and/or manual 3- compartment sink technique depending on need.
- Organize and set up dish wares/ bus station for meals and breakdown and clean up after meals.
- Maintain work areas in a safe clean manner and execute daily/weekly cleaning assignments.
- Operate and clean equipment; and perform preventive maintenance.
- Observe all food safety and sanitation procedures.
- Help sort & distribute packages and mail
- Employee must be able to satisfactorily perform the essential duties/functions as outlined in the position’s job description.
- Employees are required to make every reasonable effort to keep students, visitors, and guests safe while on the Cuyahoga Valley Environmental Education Center Campus. In furtherance of this expectation, all CVEEC employees are required to participate in annual and on-going training as deemed necessary by the Conservancy. The training may include, but is not limited to; Active Shooter, First Aid/CPR/AED, Emergency Response, Bridges Out of Poverty, Disability Awareness, and other safety-related training that may or may not include extremely sensitive or otherwise triggering content.
- Other duties as assigned.
Status/Pay/Benefits:
- Full-Time seasonal position, non-exempt, $17.00 hourly. This seasonal position starts on January 27th and the term of this position ends on December 12th, 2025.
- Benefits package including medical, dental and vision coverage; eligibility to contribute into a 403(b) retirement plan. This position will receive paid holidays off, per the Conservancy Employee Handbook. Some paid time off is offered for seasonal positions that reach or exceed six months.
