What are the responsibilities and job description for the Crew Leader II- Chainsaw Crew position at Conservation Legacy?
Chainsaw Crew:
This crew will serve primarily in front-country settings, specifically in the greater Albuquerque metropolitan area. The work will focus on sustainable forestry, fuels reduction, or invasive species removal (with the potential to use herbicide). Crew members will go through USFS (or equivalent) chainsaw training (Thinking Sawyer) and may earn an A-faller certification upon completion. Crew leaders are expected to have a prior chainsaw certification (preferably at the B-faller level) or be able to achieve a minimum of a B-bucker certification at the start of the season.

Conservation Corps New Mexico (CCNM)
Conservation Corps New Mexico, a program of Conservation Legacy, aims to continue the legacy of the Civilian Conservation Corps of the 1930s. CCNM crews are typically based in Las Cruces, NM and all project work will take place on public lands in New Mexico and surrounding states. CCNM's Field Crew program engages motivated young adults, ages 18-30, to complete challenging and impactful conservation service projects throughout southern New Mexico and surrounding states.
