About Our Team:
We are a dynamic team of professionals working together to preserve our natural resources at Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. As a Vegetation Restoration Technician, you will play a critical role in our mission by controlling invasive plants in both frontcountry and backcountry settings through surveying, identification, and mechanical/chemical removal.
You will work closely with the biosecurity team to conduct inspections and monitor field sites. Additionally, you will participate in surveys to detect trees infected by Ceratocystis (Rapid Ohia Death) and assist the restoration team with propagating native seedlings and planting and collecting seeds.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in botany, ecology, or a related field, with experience in invasive plant management and control. You should be able to communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers, both verbally and in writing.
Key Responsibilities:
