Conservatory Lab Charter School seeks individuals who are passionate about supporting students to meet their full potential. We seek motivated, insightful individuals are excited to collaborate with content teachers to plan and implement learning experiences that advance the intellectual, social, emotional and physical development of students. The ideal candidate will have experience analyzing student needs, designing c hands-on experiences to support student learning, supporting implementation of students accommodations and modifying grade level work. The learning specialist will help discern how to provide access to grade level standards with supportive learning experiences while building foundational skills.The learning specialist should have experience supporting both academic and social emotional supports.
The learning specialist will provide direct service to students, as well as partner with academic and music teachers to support student learning. In addition, the learning specialist should have experience with research based interventions, including a rules based reading program.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Partner with lead teacher to support optimal learning environment for studentsCo-plan lessons with academic teachers to support student learningProvide push-in and pull-out support as designated by students IEPsWrite IEP goals matched to student needsWrite IEP all reports related to student progress on their IEPAttend all IEP meetings in accordance with assigned studentsProvide service delivery for students including RTI support for at risk studentsDevelop individualized behavior plans to support self-regulation goalsConsult with academic and music teacher to design and support implementation of students accommodationsEnforce school and class rules and routines to help students maintain scholarly behaviorLead small group and individual instruction using identified scientific, research based interventions focused specifically on individual student difficultiesMaintain records of interventions and progress monitoring to insure fidelity of implementationAssist the lead teacher in maintaining two way communication with families, including attending team/parent meetings as requiredAssist with universal screening of studentsAssist with all testing accommodationsUtilize tracking systems to maintain lists of students participating in interventionsSupervise student groups as assigned by the scheduleUtilize feedback to reflect on skills and improve performance to improve supports for studentsPerform related duties as requested to support a safe learning environmentPerform other duties as may be assigned by the PrincipalQualifications: Special Education licenseExperience working in an urban environmentReading license (preferred)Bilingual - Spanish, Cape Verdean Creole, Haitian CreoleAbility to work closely and collaborate on a professional teamAbility to maintain confidentialityStrong oral communication skillsFlexible and able to work in a fast paced environmentSalary commensurate with experience.
