As a Controller and Operations Lead, you will play a critical role in overseeing the financial activities of our mortgage banking clients. Your primary responsibility will be to manage the financial operations, including accounting, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
Main Responsibilities:
- Plan, direct, and coordinate all accounting operational functions
- Manage financial data and reports for accurate consolidated business results
- Complete monthly bank account reconciliations
- Prepare and coordinate internal and external financial statements
- Coordinate activities with external auditors
- Provide timely and accurate financial information to management
- Evaluate and improve accounting systems and processes
- Oversee regulatory reporting and tax planning
- Hire, train, and retain skilled accounting staff
Essential Qualifications:
- Strong finance-based analytical skills
- 7-10 years of finance experience with a minimum of three years in a leadership role
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required
- Experience in senior financial roles at mortgage companies, insurance companies, banks, or financial services firms is preferred
