Job Title : RCRA / Hazardous Waste Lawyer

Our law firm client is a premier national environmental practice with over 140 lawyers in seven U.S. offices. They assist clients globally in resolving critical environmental, natural resource, project development, and sustainability issues related to their facilities, products, and operations. The firm seeks an experienced hazardous waste lawyer with five to fifteen years of practice to join their team in any of their seven offices. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) matters, including :
- Defining solid waste and characterizing hazardous waste.
- Counseling on waste generation, transportation, recycling, and regulatory exemption issues.
- Permitting waste treatment, storage, and disposal facilities.
Experience with advocacy related to RCRA rulemaking and / or enforcement is preferred. Candidates should possess a strong academic background, excellent written and oral communication skills, and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team. A technical background and relevant government experience at the federal or state level are advantageous. The successful candidate will play a key role in the firm’s market-leading circular economy practice.
