CAMS is seeking an Entry-Level Electrical Engineer to train as a Junior NERC Compliance Associate. This position supports the compliance obligations of fossil fuel and renewable energy generation sites located throughout the NERC Regional Reliability Entity network (WECC, MRO, NPCC, SERC, TRE, RFC). CAMS is seeking an individual with a background in engineering, computer science, or related field with 0-5 years of experience. Electrical Engineering is highly preferred.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Supports facility personnel with all NERC Regional Reliability Entity (WECC, TRE, etc.) engagements and any issues that may impact facility operations.Responsible for the timely preparation and/or oversight required for routine and non-routine reports to NERC, and other applicable registered entities.
- Monitors facility compliance programs and ensures all registered entity functions are compliant in those programs. Evaluates, develops, and recommends new/updated programs for integration into facility operations.
- Conducts virtual and on-site compliance reviews and offers/implements recommendations for changes to enhance regulatory compliance.
- Reviews documented compliance evidence to ensure facilities are in adherence to the NERC Standards.
- Communicates with representatives of NERC and applicable registered entities on behalf of the facilities and generates associated reports.
- Assists with the training of all personnel regarding regulatory programs.
- Carries out complex projects and assignments independently.
- Oversees contractor and vendor regulatory related tasks and adherence to compliance programs.
- Maintains project regulatory records and filing system.
- Prepares and submits routine NERC, FERC, and internal audit reports.
- Other duties as assigned.
