Waterford Power is a 3x1 Combined Cycle Power Plant located on 161 acres in Washington County, Ohio. The facility operates three GE 7FA combustion turbines (Advanced Gas Path upgrade), three Nooter Erickson HRSGs, and a GE D11 steam turbine paired with a GE 390H generator. The plant is staffed with approximately 29 employees.
The Material Technician / Storeroom Associate is responsible for the day-to-day functions associated with all aspects of managing and maintaining the inventory of the facility. This involves issuing purchase orders, processing material requests, receiving deliveries, properly storing materials received, maintaining and implementing inventory control practices, and issuing material from stock.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- INVENTORY SYSTEM – Familiar with the software used for inventory controls, new part additions, and revisions. Places purchase requisitions for materials as needed.
- PURCHASE ORDER PROCESSING – Places purchase orders in a timely fashion in accordance with the needs of the plant. Communicate effectively with vendors to ensure orders are placed accurately.
- RECEIVING – Responsible for the traffic flow, unloading and inspection of items delivered, to include making decisions about acceptability, with appropriate consultation; the proper and thorough completion of receiving reports.
- STORAGE & DISTRIBUTION – Maintains and updates storage systems to maximize availability, based on frequency of usage, with emphasis on security; Assures the proper catalog, labeling and tagging of all items in storage. Consults with user departments for the purpose of planning the efficient distribution of items requested; Assures the proper and thorough completion of inventory issue and return tickets.
- SAFETY & SECURITY – Acts in an exemplary manner to maintain and promote safe practices and procedures; to organize appropriate information and training sessions for storeroom personnel. Makes periodic inspections and, in general, responsible for the proper utilization, maintenance and security of all inventory items, as well as assigned tools, equipment and work areas.
- MATERIAL HANDLING – Ability to handle heavy materials weighing up to 50 lbs. Must be certified for all material handling equipment (forklifts) and be knowledgeable on the safe use of pallet jacks.
