Operations Manager

CAMS is seeking a results-driven Operations Manager to oversee daily operations at the Bethlehem Energy Center, a 875 MW gas fired combined cycle plant located in Glenmont, New York. This facility features three GE 7FA.04 gas turbines, and one D-11 steam turbine. The facility is interconnected to National Grid and sells power into the NYISO Market.

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Operations Manager leads a team of 17 skilled professionals and is responsible for ensuring safe, reliable, and cost-effective operations. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, technical knowledge, and a passion for continuous improvement to maximize plant performance and availability.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of plant operations, ensuring safety, reliability, environmental compliance, and financial performance.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop operations personnel; foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and professional growth.
• Coordinate with the Maintenance Manager on scheduled and unscheduled maintenance to optimize plant availability.
• Monitor plant performance metrics and adjust operational strategies as needed to achieve optimal efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance performance, safety, and operational excellence.
• Ensure compliance with all EH&S regulations and NERC standards.
• Maintain accurate documentation including operations logs, performance reports, and maintenance records.
• Lead emergency response efforts and ensure 24/7 operational readiness.
• Collaborate with vendors, contractors, and stakeholders to maintain high-quality service and cost control.
• Support budget development and monitor expenditures to ensure fiscal discipline.
• Oversee compliance with power purchase agreements and market obligations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Plant Manager or senior leadership.
