The Specialist will serve as a liaison with regulatory agencies, manage inspections, and lead compliance audits. Key responsibilities include evaluating regulatory impacts of operational changes, conducting incident investigations, and fostering a safe and environmentally compliant work environment. Additionally, the role involves preparing compliance reports, managing vendors, and assisting with budget planning.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations across multiple facilities.
- Develop, implement, and review policies, standards, and procedures to meet regulatory requirements.
- Communicate potential regulatory impacts to operations and asset management teams, tracking regulatory developments and operational changes.
- Provide environmental consulting across industrial sectors, including air permitting, wastewater, waste management, sustainability, and compliance auditing.
- Interface with regulators, coordinate inspections, and manage permit processes and compliance reports.
- Support environmental, social, and governance (ESG) programs and reporting.
- Lead technical projects from proposal through completion.
- Conduct facility audits to ensure regulatory compliance and assess operational changes.
- Investigate incidents, perform root cause analyses, and implement corrective actions.
- Promote a safe and compliant work environment through coaching and resources.
- Prepare regulatory reports and manage contractors or vendors for compliance tasks.
- Assist with budget planning and expense management for compliance activities.
- Travel up to 25%, including out-of-state, to support facility operations.
