The Plant Manager oversees three power generation facilities in Georgia:
- Monroe – 320 MW dual-fuel simple cycle facility with two Westinghouse 501 Gas Turbines.
- Washington County – 620 MW gas-fueled simple cycle facility with four GE 7FA.03 Gas Turbines.
- Sandersville – 640 MW gas-fueled simple cycle facility with eight GE 7EA Gas Turbines.
These facilities are interconnected with Georgia Power and Georgia Transmission Company and are fully contracted for power sales.
Under the general direction of the Vice President of Operations, East Region, the Plant Manager is responsible for plant operations and maintenance, safety and environmental compliance, regulatory adherence, policy administration, staff development, and financial performance across all three sites.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations, maintenance, budgeting, and administrative functions to meet company and group goals.
- Manage 17 direct and indirect reporting employees.
- Develop and manage the annual operating budget aligned with business objectives.
- Monitor and control financial performance against the approved budget.
- Establish, implement, and evaluate operational standards, procedures, and compliance programs.
- Manage the Enterprise Asset Management System (CMMS) to optimize maintenance planning.
- Ensure an adequate spare parts inventory based on OEM recommendations.
- Identify and implement operational improvements.
- Supervise scheduled and emergency maintenance activities.
- Interpret and ensure compliance with commercial contract provisions.
- Analyze facility financial performance and ensure adherence to financial controls.
- Oversee purchasing, payroll, and benefits administration in compliance with HR policies.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations.
- Select, train, and manage a skilled, cross-functional workforce.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
- Monitor and report on energy regulatory activities affecting the facility.
- Provide timely reports on cost allocation, system reliability, performance, and compliance.
