Description
The NERC Regulatory CIP Specialist supports compliance activities at Keystone and Conemaugh Generating Stations (50% allocation to each). This role ensures adherence to NERC and Regional Reliability Entity standards by executing daily, monthly, and annual program requirements, preparing compliance reports, and maintaining regulatory programs. Responsibilities include providing training, collaborating with facility personnel and contractors, and overseeing security and compliance for facility operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Compliance Execution : Ensure full compliance with NERC CIP standards by performing daily, monthly, and annual program activities, and maintaining awareness of current enforcement dates and standards.
- Reporting : Prepare and submit timely and accurate reports to NERC, Regional Reliability Entities (RFC), and other applicable organizations, addressing both routine and non-routine compliance matters.
- Program Development : Develop, evaluate, and recommend new compliance programs, integrating them into facility operations to enhance regulatory adherence and operational efficiency.
- Training : Design, assign, and deliver training programs to facility personnel, ensuring comprehensive understanding and adherence to regulatory CIP compliance standards.
- Contractor and Vendor Oversight : Monitor and manage regulatory tasks performed by contractors and vendors, ensuring their adherence to compliance programs and standards.
- System Maintenance : Work with DCS leads and contractors to ensure software patches and updates are implemented in compliance with CIP standards.
- Collaboration : Act as a liaison with the Corporate NERC team and other stakeholders, addressing compliance issues and fostering effective communication.
- Record Keeping : Maintain detailed and organized regulatory records, ensuring accessibility and accuracy for audits and inspections.
- Additional Duties : Perform additional tasks as assigned to support the overall compliance and operational objectives of the stations.
Requirements
General understanding of power plant operations, including registered entity functions and compliance interrelations with operation and maintenance activities.
