Position Summary:
The Business Development Representative (BDR) is responsible for identifying and generating new business opportunities through proactive outreach, nurturing leads, and building relationships with prospective clients. The BDR works closely with the sales and marketing teams to develop strategies for pipeline growth and plays a critical role in driving the company’s revenue and market presence. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about sales and eager to contribute to a company’s growth through proactive outreach and strategic relationship building.
This position is located on-site in Rockaway, NJ.
Responsibilities:
Lead Generation and Prospecting:
- Research and identify potential clients through various methods, including market analysis, online research, and networking.
- Proactively reach out to prospects via phone, email, LinkedIn, and other channels to introduce the company’s products or services.
- Qualify leads based on predefined criteria and assign them to the appropriate sales representatives.
Relationship Building:
- Develop and nurture relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders in target organizations.
- Understand client needs and align solutions to address their business challenges.
Pipeline Management:
- Maintain accurate records of leads and opportunities in the company’s CRM system.
- Track and report on key metrics such as call volumes, lead conversion rates, and pipeline growth.
Collaboration with Sales and Marketing:
- Work with marketing to create tailored outreach campaigns and identify high-quality leads.
- Provide feedback to the sales and marketing teams on market trends and customer needs.
Product and Industry Knowledge:
- Develop a deep understanding of the company’s products, services, and competitive advantages.
- Stay updated on industry trends and competitor activities to identify potential opportunities.
- Understanding and reporting out of competitive information and/or Market intelligence to Commercial organization.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience in sales, business development, or a similar role (1-3 years preferred).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Proficiency in CRM software.
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and results-driven mindset.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in transportation is a plus.
- Strong negotiation and presentation skills.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Number of qualified leads generated per month.
- Conversion rate of leads to sales opportunities.
- Outbound call and email activity levels.
- Revenue contribution from sourced leads.
