What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Accountant position at Consolidated Chassis Management, LLC?
Position Summary:
The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in our finance department and will be reporting directly to the accounting manager. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in public accounting, extensive experience with sales and use tax, and a thorough understanding of ASC 842. This position requires excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
This position is located on-site in Rockaway, NJ.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with the month-end close process, including review of balance sheet reconciliations.
- Review and post journal entries, vouchers and expense reports.
- Assist with the preparation of financial statements in accordance with US GAAP.
- Manage and prepare sales and use tax returns for multiple jurisdictions
- Ensure timely and accurate tax filings and payments.
- Prepare and maintain lease accounting schedules and disclosures.
- Ongoing compliance of ASC 842 lease accounting standards.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate lease data collection and reporting.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Assist with ad hoc projects as required
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounting, with a strong preference for public accounting experience.
- Proven experience with sales and use tax compliance and reporting.
- In-depth knowledge of ASC 842 lease accounting standards.
- Proficiency with accounting software and advanced MS Excel skills (NetSuite preferred).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
