Overview
Supervise personnel in the physical installation, repair, maintenance, removal, replacement, testing, and inspection of overhead conductors, infrastructure, and associated equipment on the electrical distribution system. Ensure that work activities are performed in a safe, efficient, and reliable manner, and in accordance with established policies, procedures, engineering plans and specifications, and environmental rules and regulations.Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities- Supervise subordinate personnel in the physical installation, repair, maintenance, removal, replacement, testing, and inspection of overhead conductors, infrastructure, and associated equipment of the electrical distribution system.
- Ensure availability and timely delivery of necessary materials, supplies, and equipment and tools.
- Ensure that all work activities are performed in a safe, efficient and reliable manner, and in accordance with established policies, procedures, engineering plans and specifications, environmental rules and regulations.
- Ensure that technological advances in overhead devices are in accordance with engineering plans and specifications.
- Perform with full commitment and compliance, the adherence to all environmental rules and regulations, both company and regulatory. Ensures that Company policies and procedures are observed with regard to the proper storage, handling, and disposal of hazardous materials. Also ensures the timely reporting of hazardous material release to the environment.
- Become proficient with interpreting computerized reports and their application of work-related activities and responsibilities.
- Monitor the work performance of subordinates and regularly counsel poor performers to acceptable levels.
- Conduct job briefings, job site safety exchange(JSSE's) Driver Assessment, AVAIL audits and vehicle inspections.
- Promote a culture of inclusion and engagement, growth and resource flexibility, that fosters professionalism, honesty, concern, courtesy, excellence, and teamwork.
- Recognize and implement corrective actions in cases of work performance.
- Ensure implementation of Company safety, health, and environmental programs for employees whose work is directed.
- Monitor work in progress for specification compliance.
- Conduct safety audits to ensure that all employees receive mandatory compliance and skills training as required by OSHA and Company specifications.
- Perform other related tasks and assignments as required.
Qualifications
Required Education/Experience- Bachelor's Degree 2 years related experience or
- Associate's Degree 4 years related experience or
- High School Diploma/GED 5 Years related experience
- Must have knowledge of the electric distribution system, Electric Operations and Construction, primary and secondary systems.
- Driver's License Required
- Must respond to system emergencies
- Must wear all necessary personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including; fire retardant clothing and safety harness
- Must be able to respond to Company emergencies by performing a System Emergency Assignment to restore service to our customers.
- Must be available for storm and emergency response.
