Job Description
Con Edison is seeking a highly motivated systems manager to serve as the IT Integration Architect within the CC&B IT Support team. This is a technical role, focusing on establishing / reviewing design patterns, end to end integration designs including middleware requirements, designing and implementing performance monitoring across the integration landscape, and providing technical solutioning for resolving open defects and change request enhancements. The successful candidate will develop the structure and the process to manage all facets of the interactions / integrations between CC&B and external systems. This position will involve working with internal company IT employees, as well as external Agency / Company representatives, with which CC&B exchanges information via technical integrations.The candidate must be a thought leader, successfully and productively collaborating with the various business areas and IT teams to support the business priorities of the company while executing the IT strategy and vision.
Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities
- Works with the business to strategically align IT projects and initiatives with the business area goals.
- Takes the lead on issues requiring coordination with all internal IT groups and other organizations, including vendors to ensure that issues are addressed. Directs team members as required for resolution.
- Leads planning and evaluation of application roadmaps with respects to upgrades, vendor product lifecycles, and functional enhancements for vendor and interlay developed applications.
- Collaborates with peers; researches, establishes and updates technical standards; manages application development lifecycle and methodologies, provides oversight on processes and other governance responsibilities.
- Develops effective business relationships and manages and maintains open and effective communications with all stakeholders.
- Provides direction on all issues requiring coordination with all internal IT groups and other organizations, including vendors to ensure that issues are addressed.
- Manages vendor resources to deliver high quality deliverables according to agreed upon timeframes and costs.
- Leads and manages team in the development of new / enhanced IT products from project initiation through user acceptance and implementation including planning, requirements gathering, business analysis, design, development (coding, configuration, customization), testing, training, and implementation. IT products include new custom applications, major enhancements to existing systems or vendor packaged applications, any of which may be enterprise-scale affecting multiple companies and departments and integrating with multiple systems. Develops transition plan for project responsibilities to a long-term support structure after project implementation.
- Monitors all aspects of the project life-cycle including the business analysis and legacy data conversion phases of a project to ensure strategic business and ITs project management, functional, compliance, and cost management goals and KPIs are met. Lifecycles may be traditional Waterfall / System Development Lifecycle, Agile or other approved methodologies.
- Develops staff as needed; researches / provides recommendation on technical training, evaluates / provides feedback for skill development of junior technical staff.
- Ensures alignment of technology solutions with IT standards, documentation requirements and guiding principles. Ensures supportability, scalability, maintainability, reliability, data security, cost efficiency and alignment across IT domains including IT Systems Delivery and IT Engineering & Operations.
- Manage projects including but not limited to resources, scope, budget (costs), schedule & overall project plans.
- Monitors the IT & business industry as well as best practices; develops strategies for implementation. Communicates & influences strategic direction & can represent IT at senior executive level.
- Create reusable standards & patterns (e.g., reference architecture).
