Job Description
The Specialist will be responsible to coordinate with Gas Operations Supervisors, Planners, Managers and Training Coordinators to conduct non-classroom training for Con Edison employees. Provide feedback to The Learning Center (TLC), non-classroom training Authors, and the Gas Training group regarding training content and collaborate to ensure that training materials meets present and changing requirements. Work closely with Gas System Reliability and Integrity section (SRI) for any DOJTs associated with specification revisions to ensure that the correct audience has been identified, and the facilitators guides are properly filled out. Manage the whole DOJT creation process via Policy Tech and keep all authors on target. The Specialist will be the backup for the employment development Sr. Specialist and responsible for providing support to Gas Operations to schedule and coordinate promo employee operator qualifications requirements in accordance with federal, state and local regulations and Company standards. The Specialist will coordinate with the Learning Center and other areas of the Company on special projects as well as track all career paths for Gas Ops employees and works closely with TLC, Gas Compliance & Quality Assessment group for any Training related updates. The Specialist will and attend applicable Operating Area's meetings, and local and corporate Training Committee meetings.
Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities
- Is the point-of-contact (POC) for all technical details within Area Gas and provide comments and feedback on Gas Specifications and DOJT training, as they pertain to Area Gas and all Technical groups.
- Create bundle block training for all Gas Operations.
- Partner with and initiate benchmarking activities with other organizations and outside utilities pertaining to DOJTs.
- Conduct audits on Con Edison Facilitators and provide feedback to ensure adherence to Facilitator Guides.
- Create a guideline for the authors how to write a quality DOJT and Computer Based Training.
- Evaluate effectiveness of non-classroom training sessions annually by conducting workshops to receive feedback from customers (Area Gas union personnel / supervisors).
- Participate on all Training related committees (internal and external).
- Attend and provide input and feedback to the Training Effectiveness Committee for any new training requirements in Gas Operations.
- Creates and sustains a workplace environment that fosters inclusion, leadership, professionalism, safety, operational excellence, integrity and courtesy.
- Work closely with Training Manager and Sr Analyst to track DOJT training requirements per training title.
- Provide quality customer service by oversee training for operator qualifications for designated Gas sections, and Gas Operations as a whole.
- Act as a liaison between Gas Operations employees and The Learning Center (TLC) to plan, coordinate, schedule and implement training activities such as block training.
- Adopt and implement bundle training for all groups to allow for better scheduling.
- Create all Computer Based Training (CBT) for every DOJT available and open book exams utilizing the CBT as s reference for all Gas Operations and Contractors.
- Act as a backup to the Sr Specialist from Employment and Development and schedule all promo employees that require preparation or remediation for their operator qualification as well any study time at TLC. Schedule any promotional testing milestones and supervise allotted time for self-studying at a designated location (TLC).
- Act as a backup to the Sr Specialist from Employment and Development with any career path and workbook creations for all Gas Operations.
- Act as a backup to the Sr Specialist from Employment and Development for all onboarding sessions of new employees.
- Conduct DOJT training during on boarding of new employees.
