What are the responsibilities and job description for the Specialist - Gas Work Management Support Operations Westchester position at Consolidated Edison?
Job Description
The Specialist is responsible for providing financial and ad hoc support to Gas Operations. The Specialist will work closely with Cost Management to maintain accurate financial data. In addition, the Specialist will coordinate with Gas Operations Work Management and other areas of the Company on special projects.
Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities
- Interact with representatives from various organizations, including cost management, project management, work management, Engineering and Operations to understand organization wide goals, derive analytics and report on progress to target.
- Review productivity reports to identify any discrepancies with units and ensure that all unit are captured in a timely manner.
- Identify and recommend work practice changes that can be implemented in the operating areas so that work functions are performed more efficiently and effectively as it pertains to the organization's financial goals and regulatory compliance.
- Performs analysis and reconciliation of internal record reviews, to identify areas of improvement as well as future review schedules.
- Develop innovative and effective strategies to improve the way we do business-partnering with the operating areas to implement change.
- Maintain accurate financial data and reports to submit for senior management.
- Provide financial assistance to Gas Operations as needed.
- Perform monthly closing and financial accruals.
- Maintain oversight on vendor payments.
- Provide other analytical and financial support as required.
- Perform other related tasks and assignments as required.
