Job Description
The Sr. Specialist will work on the team to implement software solutions for Con Edison's Gas organization catering to on Gas operatiions and Gas engineering departments. This role includes developing, deploying, and supporting GIS, GPS, and CAD-based systems to enhance operational efficiency and decision-making. The Sr. Specialist will collaborate with subject matter experts, vendors, and consultants to introduce new software solutions and replace legacy systems. Additionally, they will ensure the accuracy and quality of geospatial data through data QA activities and support change management to integrate GIS solutions into business operations.
Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities
- Participate in implementation activities of GIS projects from inception to completion such as requirements gathering, software testing, Data QA and change management functions.
- Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and security of GIS data and maps.
- Facilitate integration of GIS technology with other IT systems and business processes to streamline operations.
- Lead implementation of new GIS software solutions, ensuring a seamless transition and minimal disruption to operations.
- Work closely with various departments to understand their GIS needs and provide tailored solutions.
- Participate in a variety of project workshops and status calls, lead discussions with vendor teams, provide feedback and report status to the project managers on planned and ongoing GIS work over the coming years.
- Present regular updates to upper management on progress on assigned workstreams and associated activities.
- Perform other related tasks and assignments as required.
