Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Warehouse Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of our warehouse and distribution center. This position involves various tasks related to materials handling, inventory management, and order fulfillment.
Responsibilities
- Operate warehouse management systems to track inventory levels and manage stock.
- Perform picking and packing of orders accurately and efficiently.
- Handle materials safely and effectively, ensuring proper storage and organization within the warehouse.
- Utilize heavy equipment such as forklifts and wire machine.
- Learn about customers and their geographical location for delivery purposes.
- Conduct regular inventory checks to maintain accurate stock levels and report discrepancies as needed.
- Assist in loading and unloading shipments, ensuring all packages are handled with care.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the warehouse space to promote safety and efficiency.
- Learn about and prioritize various shipping methods such as customer will call, our truck shipments and various LTL/commercial carriers for customer orders.
- Gain valuable skills about the supply chain for various products and how that affects daily operations.
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily operational goals and deadlines.
Requirements
- Prior experience in a warehouse or distribution center environment is preferred.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations related to warehouse safety is a plus.
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems is advantageous for tracking inventory.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment such as forklifts and wire machine.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
- Physical ability to lift heavy packages (up to 50 pounds) and stand for extended periods.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to maintaining safety standards.
- Prior knowledge of the electrical industry is a plus, but is not required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
