Job Summary :
Providing products to the market with targeted release dates by performing engineering duties which include planning, designing, and re-engineering products from start to finish.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. (Other duties may be assigned) :
- Full development and assist with development of new concepts, new designs and modification / revisions to existing designs by meeting aggressive targeted / scheduled release dates set by management.
- Become an engineering expert in our industry.
- Develops plan for meeting expectations in areas of manufacturability, cost targets, lead time reduction efforts, usage of common parts in all new products and current design components.
- Designs and engineers’ products that meet company’s core strengths and competencies.
- Designs in compliance with industry specific safety and liability standards
- Evaluate existing designs for adequacy or for engineering changes and determine the cost to implement approved changes.
- Develop prototype testing process to minimize warranty claims.
- Creates designs that function in a safe manner with optimum production cost and reliability.
- Prepare and review Bills of Material, drawings, specifications, etc., for accuracy, clarity, and constructability.
- Provide necessary design information for coordination of engineering and design efforts including safety decals and operating instructions.
- Deliver complete and accurate detailed design drawings as required for fabrication, assembly and installation that meet project requirements and applicable Codes and Standards.
- Participates in prototype build and follow up during fabrication including jigs and fixtures.
