Facilities Maintenance Technician

The Facilities Maintenance Technician works in the Maintenance Department to perform facility related maintenance and minor repairs.

Shift hours are Monday to Friday 7AM-3:30PM.

Pay is $22.67 per hour. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Cleans and paints facility.
• Responsible for 5S tasks throughout the facility, such as cleaning machine cells when down and shadow boards.
• Operates and maintains floor cleaning such as use of floor sweeper and scrubber and floor drain and sump maintenance.
• Responsible for upkeep and maintenance of warehouse racking.
• Responsible for upkeep of facility lighting.
• Fixes minor plumbing problems such as, unclogging drains and repairing leaks.
• Performs carpentry projects such as door and trim replacement.
• Performs minor HVAC service and repairs.
• Routine ladder and rigging inspections.
• Assists maintenance employees with projects, as needed.
• Other job duties, as assigned.
• Performs all work in accordance with company safety procedures and quality standards.
• Effectively communicates with employees and management to resolve facility related tasks.
• Ability to utilize work order system to prioritize tasks and document completion of tasks.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED).
• Two years related experience or training. 

Required Qualifications and Competencies

• Ability to comprehend and follow detailed written or verbal instructions.
• Ability to interpret mechanical drawings or sketches.
• Be familiar with common symbols used in hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical drawings.
• Must be willing to utilize electronic devices for evaluating machinery and recording work performed.
• Ability to work effectively alone and within teams to ensure tasks are completed safely, appropriately escalated when needed, and independently priorities tasks to ensure timely completion.

Language Skills:

Ability to read, write, verbalize and comprehend instructions and correspondence in the English language.  Ability to effectively present information to all levels of the organization. 

Mathematical Skills:

Must have mathematical skills equivalent to those under degree requirement.
