What You'll Do
- Dusts, sweeps, mops, buffs, cleans fixtures and removes trash. Cleans restrooms with proper chemicals and replenishes supplies.
- Utilizes equipment such as electric floor machines and industrial vacuum cleaners, in addition to mops, brooms and dusters.
- Strips floors, applies floor finish and buffs floors.
- Cleans carpets, mats, windows, walls, and woodwork.
- Must be able to understand and carry out instructions, as well as observe safety and security regulations.
- Must be able to learn prescribed custodial methods and requirements.
- Schedules own work within the scope of instructions from the supervisor.
- Keeps assigned area clean and sanitary.
- Ensures proper care, operation, and storage of cleaning equipment to prevent damage to equipment.
- Takes necessary action to remove or counteract ice, snow, and mud on floors to prevent damage to property or injury to personnel.
- Responsible for maintaining a knowledge of applicable Federal, State, DOE, Corporate and Plant rules, regulations, Labor Agreements and Plant-wide operating policies and procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Required to attend and/or successfully complete training classes as determined by the Training and Development Technologies Department, through General Employee Training (Reference DOE Order 426.2), and Management.
- Participates in worker involvement including input to work planning and methods to identify hazards and controls.
- Understands a worker’s right to stop work when they feel their own or other’s personal safety is jeopardized.
- Attends all required safety meetings and training. Offers suggestions on improvements to the work environment.

Minimum Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to perform all duties and functions outlined above.
- Must have a valid State Motor Vehicle Operator's License.
- Must be able to operate mechanical cleaning equipment.
- Must be able to read, write, and comprehend applicable written and/or oral instructions.
Preferred Job Requirements
- Must meet initial employment requirements.
- Must be physically fit to perform the above job functions as determined by Medical Evaluation.
- All qualifications, work history, training, and education are to be verified by direct contact with former employers and/or documented proof. Ability to perform the functions and responsibilities involved will be determined by a comprehensive interview and background evaluation.

Notes
Requires a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required.
Position may require entry into Materials Access Areas (MAA) and participation in the Human Reliability Program (HRP). If HRP is required, candidate must complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph, pursuant to 10CFR 709. Medical requirements may apply.
