The Maintenance Planner / MRO Coordinator will be responsible for the setup, organization, and management of the maintenance parts crib. This role involves ensuring that the crib is fully functional and stocked with essential maintenance, repair, and operational supplies (MRO supplies). This position will work closely with the procurement and maintenance teams to establish efficient inventory control, distribution processes, and accurate record-keeping.
Primary Responsibilities
- Manage the daily operation of the maintenance parts crib, including issuing tools, parts, and supplies to maintenance staff.
- Assist in the layout and physical setup of the MRO crib.
- Organize, label, and categorize storage areas and inventory for tools, spare parts, and consumables by part number.
- Develop and maintain an efficient process for receiving, storing, and distributing items.
- Accurately record all inventory transactions, including the issuance and return of tools and parts.
- Generate reports on inventory usage, re-order points, and stock levels for management review.
- Ensure efficiency on closing work orders; understands what needs to be accomplished, estimate labor hours, tools, and resources needed to complete work orders.
- Order, receive, and supervise the required materials needed to support maintenance activities.
- Responsible for gathering and preparing technical documentation including drawings (P&ID, schematics, etc.), specifications, spare parts lists, critical OEM operation manuals, and updates the PM system; (PM tasks are correct, accurate time keeping, and detailed work notes.)
- Work closely with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Lead communication between maintenance and operations to ensure everyone receives timely, efficient, and quality service, and communicate plant needs and priorities.
- Prepare Preventative Maintenance (PM)/project plans that are in sync with the CMMS scheduled dates.
- Coordinate planned downtime to reduce mean time between failures and minimize the interference with production schedules.
- Coordinating and overseeing contractors when professional repairs are necessary.
- Develop Standardized Maintenance Plans for all maintenance work.
- Ability to work flexible schedule as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Maintenance Manager.
- Adhere to all safety and quality standards, policies, and procedures.
- Education: Highschool Diploma or GED.
- Certifications/Licenses: N/A
- Other Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Previous experience in inventory management, warehousing, or MRO operations.
- Familiarity with CMMS systems or similar software.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Inventory management: 1 year.
- ERP systems: 1 year.
- Working Environment: Shop floor.
- Required PPE: Check for required PPE in areas you may be working in
- Safety Glasses: Needed in all areas of the plant.
- Steel toe shoes: Needed in all areas of the plant.
