Overview
This role will ensure seamless execution of all DME-related processes, optimize workflows, and drive compliance with industry regulations while leading a team of specialists. The ideal candidate is a person who thrives on process improvement, automation, and data-driven decision-making.
As the DME Program Specialist your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Develop and implement strategic initiatives to optimize DME eligibility verification, claims processing, and revenue cycle management.
- Ensure all payor guidelines are met, leveraging technology and automation to streamline billing processes.
- Oversee the daily submission of claims to Medicaid, Medicare, and secondary insurers, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Enhance workflows for submitting required documentation to expedite claims processing.
- Handle denials, appeals, and rejected claims while implementing proactive resolution strategies.
- Monitor financial performance by tracking patient copays, deductibles, and out-of-pocket expenses.
- Oversee the collection, posting, and reconciliation of all insurance payments.
- Drive AR follow-up and collections strategies, leveraging data analytics to optimize recovery.
- Ensure the continuous improvement of standard work policies to align with evolving payor requirements.
- Coordinate and manage audits, implementing best practices for documentation and reporting.

- Extensive experience in DME billing and program management.
- Comprehensive knowledge of DME services, including incontinence, oral nutrition, diabetic supplies, and inhalation therapy. Flu/Covid Vaccine billing is a plus.
- Strong familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and Managed Care plans.
- Proficiency in DME billing software, Noridian/WPS websites, and other industry-specific tools.
- Proven ability to analyze data, optimize billing processes, and drive continuous improvements.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and strategic thinking skills.
- Ability to foster a high-performing team in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.
