Overview

Collections roles :

  • Reconcile A / R accounts prior to making calls (AOAP's)
  • Call responsible parties regularly regarding any past due accounts.
  • Prepares and sends out past due account letters per our company policy
  • File estate / probate claims and appear for court hearings
  • Verify that account has been billed correctly (including billing any insurance companies, etc.) on delinquent accounts
  • Update address changes from Express Bill
  • Update and re send return mail (statements only)
  • Prepare AR aging reports by forth week of each month
  • Communicate and interact effectively with the billing department
  • Work with Manager to gain approvals on bad debt w / o
  • Report any concerns to manager regarding patterns noted with accounts related to additional training within other departments
  • Work aggressively to make sure collection process accomplished on each account
  • Knowledge of legal options regarding handling of deceased patients between family members, caregivers, responsible insurance carriers
  • Responsible with discussions of account activities during necessary AR review meetings
  • Responsible for effective reductions or days outstanding
  • Accurate follow through on outstanding accounts
  • Reporting and monthly, weekly generated of reports Intake / Admission roles :
  • Work a schedule that is conducive to the needs of the Triage department with extended hours if necessary
  • Enter and verify all new resident information (full name, facility name, pay or status, date of birth, social security number, etc.)
  • Enter and verify all doctor information for each new resident
  • Enter and verify all room changes based on admissions
  • Generate temp room list daily and update as necessary
  • Generate Medicaid pending report and update as necessary
  • Ensure that all billing information for every resident in system is accurate to maximize efficiencies in reimbursement. All accountability for accurate billing information lies with the Intake position
  • Works efficiently with the Triage team
  • Assist in the training of an alternate intake person to cover for vacation, illness, etc.
  • Assist conversion team with entering and verifying patients in newly converted facilities
  • Mail out Customer Agreement and HIPAA packets to all new admissions within 24 hours of admission date. This mail date should be documented in Rescot.
  • Assist in monitoring incoming HIPAA's and document receipt in Rescot
  • Review and update any non deliverable new admission packets due to incorrect address etc.
  • Assist in verifying insurance and responsible party information on incoming customer agreements
  • Assist Third Party Billing with rejections as needed
  • Perform any task deemed appropriate by the Accounts Receivable Manager
  • Assist with month-end related to ekitrejections, room rosters, and other reporting

Qualifications

  • High School Graduate or equivalent
  • Collections experience in the Medical arena
  • Experience in insurance verification
  • Persistent with follow-through
  • Organizations skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Team player
  • Excellent typing skills
  • Excellent phone etiquette
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
