Public Involvement Coordinator

What Your Day Will Look Like:

As a full-time public involvement coordinator, you’ll manage community outreach efforts a variety of infrastructure projects. This fast-paced position requires a candidate with strong time management, written and verbal communication, planning, organization, active listening, and interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate possesses the ability to take initiative, work independently, and coordinate efforts with multi-discipline teams. The candidate must demonstrate excellent attention to detail and have the ability to produce high quality work under short time constraints. The public involvement coordinator reports to the public involvement manager.

What You'll Do:

• Build and maintain relationships with new and existing clients and partners.• Create and maintain detailed communication logs and stakeholder databases.• Manage community outreach efforts utilizing multiple communication channels including in-person meeting, regular email updates, a 24/7 hotline number, a project website, social media, etc. • Develop informational materials including communicating plans, flyers, and postcards, etc.• Attend the project meetings, take notes, and follow-up on action items.• Prepare for and facilitate public events such as open houses, workshops, public hearings, neighborhood meetings, ribbon cuttings, etc. 

What You'll Need:

• Bachelor's in Communications, Journalism, English, Public Relations, Marketing, or Advertising.• Preferred minimum one year of public involvement experience.• Preferred experience in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, Adobe Creative Cloud.• Must have a valid driver's license with a good driving record.•This hybrid position fluctuates between an office environment and a field environment and routinely requires the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, cameras, and copy machines.  This job will require occasional exposure to work environments that may include inclement weather, heat, humidity, noise, construction hazards, atmospheric conditions, and bodies of water, depending on project requirements.•While performing the duties of this job, physical demands of the employee include frequent sitting, walking, standing, talking, hearing, and occasional balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, grasping, and feeling. This job will require operating a company vehicle, and may include lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 35 lbs.
