What are the responsibilities and job description for the Customer and Market Researcher position at Constant Contact?
The Customer and Market Researcher conducts primary and secondary projects to assist and further develop the market and customer research functions within Constant Contact. This role will be crucial in enhancing decision-making across the business and establishing replicable testing practices. The ability to quickly develop and execute research projects and strategies to match shifting business needs will be critical to the success of this role.
This can be an in-person or remote position. However, you are also welcome to work in any of our established offices in Boston, MA, Gainesville, FL, or Loveland, CO.
What you’ll do:
- Responsible for independently conducting research projects from start to finish, including research design, analysis, report building, and dissemination of the core insights. This can stretch across all three research verticals: customer research, market research, and competitive intelligence.
- Independently conduct complex quantitative in-depth market, customer, and competitor analysis ranging from regression analysis to cluster analysis
- Independently conduct competitive and syndicated research analysis, including reviewing competitor SEO/SEM, investor reports, and compiling outside data deliverables
- Independently conduct rigorous qualitative research, including IDIs, focus groups, and diary studies
- Translate data into actionable insights, create reports, and present research findings to senior leadership
- Tie analytics and research data to business KPIs, proving and showing predictive and causal behavior to inform business strategy
- Become a key point of contact for stakeholders and teams, as well as become the subject matter expert for our target audience
- Lead and manage larger multi-person research projects, ensuring that deadlines are hit, tasks are appropriately delegated while also contributing to the research process, including developing screeners, questionnaire writing, data analysis, survey programming, qualitative interviews, etc.
Who you are:
- Bachelor’s degree, ideally within the marketing, business, economic, or social science fields. Master’s degree preferred.
- 5 years of work experience in market or customer research, marketing, data analytics, competitive intelligence, consulting
- Knowledgeable in statistics and statistical software (i.e. Excel,DisplayR, SPSS, SQL). and is comfortable with conjoint analysis, max diff, chi-squared testing
- Knowledgeable of survey research and best practices and survey software (i.e. Alchemer, Qualtrics)
- Self-starter with the ability to function well independently and in collaboration with stakeholders under tight deadlines while tackling complex problems
- Must be an excellent communicator with strong presentation and data visualization skills with an ability to distill complex information to a variety of stakeholders
- Curious and independent thinker
- Background working in SaaS environment preferred.
