We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Power Plant Operator to join our team at Constellation Energy Generation, LLC. As the nation's largest producer of clean, carbon-free energy, we are focused on accelerating the transition to a carbon-free future. Our ideal candidate will be responsible for operating and monitoring nuclear station equipment, performing various administrative duties, and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our power plants.
Main Responsibilities:
- Monitor, control, and operate nuclear station equipment in the control room.
- Start, stop, control, and monitor nuclear reactor and auxiliary reactor systems as required for plant operations.
- Start, stop, control, and monitor steam turbine, main generator, and auxiliary turbine generating equipment as required to maintain maximum station capability.
- Perform various calculations and obtain overview data as required by procedure.
- Respond to plant indicators and alarms in accordance with plant procedures and take designated actions.
- Participate as a member of the station fire brigade and function as fire brigade leader.
- Assist shift supervision in directing and coordinating the actions of other personnel assigned to assist in the operation of the station.
Requirements:
- A high school diploma or equivalent with 2 years of Power Plant experience, including 1 year of Nuclear Power Plant experience.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology, or related science program, or Associates of Science degree in engineering, engineering technology, or related science program, or 43 credit hours of post-secondary education with 75% advanced math, physics, chemistry, and/or engineering/engineering technology.
- Documented training and experience applicable to power generation operating experience while a member of the Nuclear Navy program.
- Pass the Plant Operator Selection System (POSS) Examination and Basic Math and Science Test (BMST).
- Be able to obtain unescorted access to a nuclear facility as a member of a critical group.
- Meet the requirements of Company and Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) psychological, drug, alcohol, and medical testing policies and/or regulations.
- Ability to wear a respirator and work with a 20-pound weight on the back is required.
- Must be available for on-call status.
