Primary Purpose
The Chief of Staff will be a key support to the EVP Chief Legal and Policy Officer in leading and managing the combined legal and policy departments, approximately 150 employees. This role will involve a range of strategic and administrative functions to ensure efficient departmental operations and the achievement of organizational goals. The Chief of Staff will also play a crucial role in fostering collaboration and addressing cultural issues within the departments. Responsibilities include developing and implementing strategies, planning meetings, drafting communications, building relationships with internal stakeholders, supporting EVP’s external facing work with key stakeholders, including policymakers and regulators. This work will include substantive development with others on the team of presentations, speeches, talking points, and positions.

Responsibilities
- Assist in managing the legal and policy departments, including budgeting, resource allocation, and performance tracking. Collaborate with the EVP to develop and execute departmental strategic plans with Constellation’s goals.
- Assist in preparing for external meetings, stakeholder engagements, lobbying and activities. Assist in managing relationships with external partners, clients, and industry associations.
- Address cultural issues and foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment. Implement initiatives to promote teamwork, communication, and employee engagement.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and other communication materials for executive meetings and leadership updates.
- Lead and support special projects and initiatives as assigned by the EVP, involving cross-functional collaboration and driving successful outcomes.
- Monitor changes in laws and regulations, advising on potential legal implications of business decisions, and ensuring compliance with relevant policies and guidelines.
- Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 10 years in a related field.
- Experience in a Chief of Staff or senior leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of legal and policy functions, such as legislative affairs, regulatory affairs, and public policy, preferably in a corporate setting.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent writing, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexible and comfort in navigating ambiguity or shifting priories.
- High level of discretion in handling sensitive information.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Electric and or gas industry knowledge and experience.
- Government or regulatory affairs experience
