We are seeking an advanced technical/engineering problem solver to perform advanced technical/engineering problem solving in support of Power plant operations. As a resource and technical expert to engineers, you will be responsible for technical decisions, possessing excellent knowledge in functional discipline and its practical application, and having detailed knowledge of applicable industry codes and regulations.
Main Responsibilities:
- Provide in-depth technical expertise to develop, manage and implement engineering analysis, activities and programs.
- Provide technical expertise and consultation through direct involvement and as a subject matter expert when consulted to identify and resolve equipment and system problems.
- Directly fulfill engineering and technical leadership accountability regarding short-term and long-term programs that impact site operations.
- Perform engineering tasks as assigned by supervision applying engineering principles.
- Accountable for the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of work ensuring proper configuration management and assuring that standard design criteria, practices, procedures and codes are used in preparation of plans and specifications.
- Perform independent research, reviews, studies and analyses in support of technical projects and programs.
- Recommend equipment, new concepts and techniques to improve performance, simplify construction, reduce costs, correct design or material flaws, or comply with changes in codes or regulations.
Key Accountabilities:
- Responsible for development of Enoserv database to serve as centralized repository of Constellation Power relay settings.
- Responsible for development of Doble RTS test routines as means to standardize relay testing across Constellation Power fleet.
- Interfacing closely with internal relay testing teams and 3rd party vendors for configuration and testing of NERC as well as BOP protective systems.
- Analyze issues involved with corrective and predictive maintenance on protective relays and associated circuits. Implement improvements as required.
- Must be able to collect data from the field and incorporate the information and data into applicable databases and documents.
- Ensure the plant's physical and functional characteristics are accurately reflected in the plant documents.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, and 2 years of experience (Mid-level E02 Engineer)
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, and 5 years professional experience (Senior E03 Engineer)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior relay testing experience required.
- Prior knowledge of NERC standards preferred.
- Ability to work in a power plant environment.
- Knowledge of codes and standards that apply to the repair and maintenance of power plant and process equipment.
- Demonstrated knowledge and troubleshooting experience with electric generation systems and processes.
