Powered Industrial Truck/Forklift Operator

Construct Inc. is seeking a reliable and experienced Forklift Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts to transport, load, and unload steel materials safely and efficiently within our yard areas. You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth flow of materials to support production schedules and the timely delivery of products to clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts to load, unload, and move structural steel products and other materials safely.
• Transport steel beams, plates, and other materials to designated storage areas or to the production floor, ensuring that materials are stored properly to prevent damage.
• Follow safety protocols at all times while operating forklifts and moving materials, adhering to company and OSHA safety regulations.
• Inspect forklifts daily to ensure proper functioning, reporting any maintenance needs or malfunctions to the supervisor.
• Maintain an organized and safe work environment in the yard and loading/unloading areas.
• Assist with inventory control by checking and tracking material counts and organizing products for shipment.
• Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient workflow and material handling.
• Ensure that all lifting operations are performed in compliance with safety standards and company policies.

Qualifications

• Valid forklift operator certification is required.
• 5 years’ experience operating forklifts in a warehouse, construction, or industrial setting, preferably with steel or heavy materials.
• Knowledge of safety regulations related to forklift operation and material handling.
• Ability to read and interpret safety manuals, inventory documents, and labels on materials.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage heavy loads safely.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions, as tasks take place outdoors.
