What are the responsibilities and job description for the Block and Brick Mason position at Construction and Property Management?
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Block and Brick Mason to join our team. As a Brick Mason, you will be responsible for constructing and repairing walls, buildings, and other structures using bricks, concrete blocks, and other masonry materials. Your expertise in masonry techniques and attention to detail will contribute to the successful completion of various construction projects.
Responsibilities:
- Lay bricks and other masonry units to construct or repair walls, partitions, arches, fireplaces, chimneys, and other structures
- Mix mortar or grout according to specifications
- Set stone or brick in mortar joints and remove excess mortar
- Cut or shape bricks, stones, or blocks using hand tools or power tools
- Align structures using plumb lines, levels, or squares
- Repair or replace damaged bricks or masonry units
- Install firebrick linings in industrial furnaces
- Build scaffolding or other temporary structures to support work activities
Qualifications
- Proficient in masonry techniques and construction practices
- Skilled in using hand and power tools effectively
- Experience with concrete forming and finishing
- Ability to read blueprints and execute renovation projects
- Knowledge of rebar installation and welding techniques
- Familiarity with construction site safety protocols and practice
- Ability to build and repair roofs using various materials
- Experience in hardscape construction including patios, walkways, and retaining walls
- Familiarity with hand tools used in masonry work such as trowels, chisels, hammers, and levels
- Knowledge of trim carpentry for finishing touches on masonry projects
- Ability to apply plaster or stucco finishes
*Note: $20 per hour is the starting pay. Pay will be based upon experience.
