Position Overview:
We're seeking a detail-oriented Estimation Specialist to join our team. In this role, you'll develop accurate, comprehensive, and value-focused proposals for our customers. Through detailed project analysis, precise calculations, and creative alternatives, you'll help customers understand the full value of potential solutions while ensuring our estimates reflect current market conditions and product availability.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Analyze Project Requirements
- Review blueprints, specifications, and project documents
- Collaborate with customers and sales team to fully understand project needs
- Identify critical timeline and delivery requirements
Create Accurate Estimates
- Calculate precise material quantities with appropriate contingencies
- Apply current pricing and verify material availability
- Determine labor requirements when applicable
- Identify special order items and lead times
Develop Value-Focused Proposals
- Present information in clear, professional formats that highlight value
- Suggest creative alternatives that optimize cost, quality, and timeline
- Prepare comparison options when beneficial to customer decision-making
- Document all specifications and assumptions clearly
Maintain Estimation Excellence
- Follow up promptly on submitted proposals
- Track estimation accuracy through project completion feedback
- Continuously refine estimation processes based on outcomes
- Stay current on product knowledge and pricing trends
- Participate in regular team coordination to improve proposal processes
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Experience/Education
- 1 years of construction or building materials estimation experience
- Proficiency with takeoff and estimation software
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
Technical Skills
- Strong mathematical aptitude and attention to detail
- Proficiency with Excel or Sheets
- Experience with estimation or takeoff software
- Basic understanding of construction methods and materials
- Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines
