What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Estimator position at Construction Resources, LLC?
The Estimator/Bid Coordinator is a critical position within Construction Resources, LLC (CORE). They are responsible for analyzing bid specifications, reviewing project drawings, and ensuring a comprehensive understanding of all requirements necessary to successfully submit competitive bids. Estimators are responsible for proactively following up with subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to ensure timely receipt of bids, while also collaborating closely with the Project Management team to track bids and budgets facilitating the successful acquisition of projects. CORE works in a variety of industries including commercial, retail, industrial, multi-unit residential and educational projects.
Estimator/Bid Coordinator - Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Review and analyze architectural and engineering plans to define the project scope and key cost factors.
- Assess and address any gaps or discrepancies in the scope of work and propose solutions to mitigate risk.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to solicit bids and ensure timely and accurate submissions, while maintaining accurate records of all estimates, proposals, proper coverage and related documentation.
- Work closely with the project management team to review bids, track, budgets, and contribute to project planning and execution.
- Develops RFI’s and clarifications and ensures adequate subcontractor coverage and shows interest.
- Continuously monitor industry trends and market conditions to enhance the company’s competitive edge in the bidding process and show initiative when gaining better pricing from subcontractors.
- Assist in identifying opportunities for business development and maintaining strong relationships with clients and partners.
Basic Requirements
- : Certified Professional Estimator, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related experience is preferred.
- : 5 years in estimating with relevant industry experience; exposed to/estimated projects from the ground up ranging from $500,000 to up $10M.
- MS Office Suite: Excel, Word, Outlook, Bluebeam or Adobe
- MS Project
- ProCore
